I’m thrilled to reveal the cover for my new book, BLACK THORN. Do you like it? I love it!
Read on for a clue or two about the story …
Blackthorn Ashes was meant to be their forever home. For the first six families moving into the exclusive new housing development, it was a chance to live a peaceful life on the cliffs overlooking the Cornish sea, safe in the knowledge that it had been created just for them.
But six weeks later, paradise is lost. Six people are dead. And Blackthorn Ashes is left abandoned and unfinished, its dark shadows hiding all manner of secrets.
One of its surviving residents, Agnes Gale, is determined to find out the truth about what happened. Even if that truth is deadlier than she could have ever believed possible . . .
BLACK THORN is out on 13 July from PanMacmillan. Preorder here.

September is a great time for hibernating with books … And Fragile is just 99p for the whole month. Inspired in part by Rebecca, it’s my most Gothic thriller (so far). You can buy it for your Kindle here.

I’m thrilled to share my book news: Pan Macmillan have picked up two new psychological thrillers from me. The first one, Black Thorn, will be published in hardback in summer 2023.
Black Thorn centres around the Gale family. Having moved into their dream home in the ultra-modern Blackthorn Ashes estate, built high on the cliffs of the Cornish coastline, the Gales think they have escaped to paradise. But what should have been a new start turns to a nightmare as they and their new neighbours are forced to evacuate their homes one terrible morning shortly after moving in. Relocated to a local caravan park, the Gales’ lives are in tatters. As Agnes, their daughter, begins to look into what happened, she discovers her family and their neighbours have secrets they will do anything to keep …
I’ve always been fascinated by what binds families together, and what can tear them apart. Black Thorn is a book that has lived in my head (and my heart) for a long time. I’m thrilled to finally bring it to readers.
